First cohort of CLSA fellows announced

Six WVU Eberly College of Arts and Sciences students have been selected for the first cohort of Community Leadership and Social Action Fellows at the Center for Resilient Communities at West Virginia University.

The Community Leadership and Social Action Fellowship is intended for undergraduate students who have demonstrated potential for contributing to transformative social change in Appalachia. Students will receive a $3,000 stipend to complete a social action project in communities across West Virginia. This community-based research experience is coupled with training in collective inquiry research and mentorship from community-based researchers.

Kassie Colon: Kassie is completing a triple major in Latin American Studies, Women’s and Gender Studiesand Geography this year.

Christina White: Christina is an Honors student and is working on adouble major in Biology and International Studies and a minor in Spanish.

Aerianna McClanahan: Aerianna is a double major in English and Women’s and Gender Studies, with minors in Sociology and Appalachian Studies.

Macy Withrow: Macy is earning her undergraduate degree in Sociology with minors in Communication and Women’s and Gender Studies.

Adia Kolb: Adia is working on adouble majorin Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studiesand adouble minorin Anthropology and Appalachian Studies.

Gabriella Lebo: Gabriella is a double major in Psychology and English, with an area of emphasis in Professional Writing and Editing.
